Getting started with Updatronix 3000

Updatronix 3000 is the Pro edition of Updatronix. It needs the Updatronix plugin running first, and its features appear inside the Updatronix screen. This guide takes you from purchase to an active license and a switched-on Update Shield.

Requirements

• WordPress 6.2 or later
• PHP 8.1 or later
• The Updatronix plugin, version 1.1.1 or later, active
• A valid Updatronix 3000 license key, delivered by email after purchase

Install and activate

1. Install Updatronix – Update Manager Enhanced first, if you have not already. Updatronix 3000 shows a notice until it is there: Updatronix 3000 requires the Updatronix plugin. Install Updatronix to enable Pro features.
2. Install the Updatronix 3000 ZIP file from Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, then activate it.
3. If your Updatronix plugin is older than 1.1.1, update it first. The notice reads: Updatronix 3000 requires Updatronix 1.1.1 or later. You are running x.y.z. Update Updatronix to enable Pro features.

On multisite, activate both plugins network-wide from the Network Admin. That is where you manage every Pro feature.

Open the Pro screen

The Updatronix screen gains a fifth tab.

1. Open Tools → Updatronix on a single site, or Updatronix in the Network Admin on a network.
2. Select the Updatronix 3000 tab.

The tab describes itself as Manage your Pro features: Safe Mode, compatibility checks, and more. It holds the license section and the Update Shield settings.

If the tab is missing, the Updatronix plugin is not active, or not recent enough, and Pro never loaded.

Activate your license

1. On the Updatronix 3000 tab, find the License Activation section. Its intro reads: A valid license key is required to activate Updatronix 3000 features. Enter your license key below to get started.
2. Paste your license key into the License Key field. Eight characters is the minimum.
3. Select Activate License. The button shows Activating… while the request runs.
4. On success you see License activated successfully., and the License card shows:
   • Status: Active
   • License Key: masked, with only the last four characters visible
   • Registered Domain: the domain you activated
   • Last Checked: when the license was last validated

The license binds to the domain you activate. If the key does not validate, the screen shows Activation failed. or Activation rejected by server. Check the key for typos, confirm it is not already registered to another domain, then retry. Activation attempts are throttled, so a too-quick retry brings up Please wait before attempting another activation.

Turn on the Update Shield

The Update Shield section on the same tab starts with Safe mode off.

1. Turn on Safe mode.
2. Leave Check WordPress version compatibility and Check PHP version compatibility on. Those are the defaults. Turn one off if you want updates blocked by the other criterion alone.
3. Keep Send email notifications when an update is blocked on to hear about every block.
4. Select Save Changes. The button shows Saving while it saves, and a Settings saved notice confirms.

First steps

1. After saving, select Recheck compatibility to run a fresh scan against the WordPress.org API right away. The panel then lists the blocked items (Blocked items: N plugins, N themes…) if there are any.
2. Open the Update logs tab from time to time. Every blocked or disabled update is recorded there.
3. Check the native Dashboard → Updates screen. Safe mode adds notices and marks incompatible items there, and on the Plugins and Themes screens.

Remove Updatronix 3000

Deleting the plugin removes the license data, the shield settings, and its own capability. It does not touch the Updatronix plugin’s logs or settings. The shared removal guidance is in the Updatronix documentation.
